When the snow starts falling and temperatures plummet, no homeowner wants to be caught without power -- or insulation.

Jim Kusmierz, a longtime Michigan resident of 34 years, learned just how valuable foam insulation can be during one of the state's harshest snowstorms.

This is Jim's story, and one of many RetroFoam of Michigan reviews that showcase real comfort and real results.

A Homeowner on a Mission for Comfort

Jim didn't have sky-high energy bills, but inconsistent temperatures throughout his house were a real issue.

"For the most part, bills really weren't that bad. But I basically [was] seeing if we can just make the house a little bit more comfortable to live in," Jim explained.

That search for comfort led him to RetroFoam of Michigan, drawn to the idea that foam insulation could help make his home more enjoyable year-round.

Trusting RetroFoam of Michigan from the Start

Jim didn't spend time comparing contractors.

Once he spoke with the RetroFoam team, he felt confident he'd found the right people for the job.

"After talking to you, folks, I felt pretty comfortable with the whole operation that you guys were going to do for me," Jim said.

He opted to insulate his entire home -- from the basement to the attic -- with injection and spray foam insulation.

Immediate Comfort You Can Feel

The impact of the insulation was quick and noticeable.

"It's really buttoned up up there...it does block the cold a lot more," Jim said about his previously drafty upstairs.

Even his basement felt warmer, and the kitchen -- while still having its quirks -- became more comfortable overall.

Foam Insulation Put to the Test: A Power Outage in a Snowstorm

Then came the ultimate test.

A snowstorm knocked out Jim's power from Friday night through Saturday at midnight. Outside, it was brutally cold. Inside? Surprisingly warm.

"We weren't terribly cold in the house by any means...it all worked out. We were still pretty comfortable," he said.

Before RetroFoam, an outage like this would've meant bundling up in the sunroom or worrying about frozen pipes. Now, Jim's home retained heat so well, the temperature barely dropped during the outage.

A Smooth Process from Start to Finish

Jim had praise not just for the product, but the people who installed it.

"You guys are very professional," Jim said. "There was no mess of any kind. So that was pretty awesome."

From consultation through clean-up, he felt cared for and informed.

Recommending RetroFoam of Michigan? Absolutely.

When asked if he'd recommend RetroFoam, Jim didn't hesitate.

"I definitely would recommend anybody to work with you guys," Jim said. "There were no surprises at the end."

Jim's experience is one of many positive RetroFoam of Michigan reviews that highlight not just the product, but the people behind it.

Comfort, Even When the Power Goes Out

For Jim, RetroFoam didn't just insulate his house -- it gave him peace of mind. Whether it's a snowy night or a sweltering summer day, his home is comfortable and energy-efficient thanks to foam insulation.
