We’re talking 16 committed energy providers in Michigan devoted to educating residents about energy efficiency and offering generous rebates for reducing energy use, installing foam insulation being one of the rebates.

The team, the partnership, the collaboration? Efficiency United.

Inspired by the Michigan Public Act 295 of 2008, the Lower Peninsula energy providers of Efficiency United include the following utilities:

• Alpena Power Company
• The City of Dowagiac
• The City of Harbor Springs Electric Department
• Hillsdale Board of Public Utilities
• Michigan Gas Utilities
• SEMCO

The Efficiency United Rebates

If you are a customer of one of the above utilities and plan to update your insulation this year, there may be Efficiency United rebates for you.

You could receive up to $300 for insulating you attic, $250 for your exterior walls, and $200 for your rim joist or crawl space. Certain square footage requirements and restrictions apply.

Applying for the Efficiency United Rebates is Simple

1 - Am I eligible?

You must be a participating energy customer at the time of the equipment installation. The upgrade also has to occur during the calendar year you are applying.

2 - Where’s my paperwork?

To redeem the rebates, gather the following items:

• A copy of your paid in full invoice
• Utility account number and most recent bill
• Contractor information, if necessary

Fill out the Efficiency United rebates application, ensuring you sign it at the end. Then attach the previously compiled paperwork.

3 - Did I submit?

Confirm your information was entered correctly. If so, send the information via mail within 90 days of the work being completed.
