It’s not fun when you feel a noticeable breeze coming from your bedroom walls.

For Cindy Palmer of Holt, Michigan, this wasn’t a bad dream, but a reality.

“I could feel the cold coming in, like I was standing outside,” explained Cindy. “The walls were also cold to touch.”

A Home Energy Analysis from Consumers Energy explained the root cause of the drafts - there was no insulation in the walls of Cindy’s bedroom.

Cindy discovered RetroFoam of Michigan at a Women’s Expo in Lansing. In late 2015 she hired RetroFoam to retrofit her existing walls with foam insulation, creating an air barrier around the house to greatly reduce drafts and air leaks.

Life after foam insulation is much better for Cindy. Her bedroom is now comfortable, and drafts and cold walls are now just a thing of the past. Also, Cindy’s monthly gas and electric bills are now significantly less than they were prior to insulating her walls.

“Previously, my highest monthly Consumers bill was around $200. Now, I haven’t seen a bill much over $100,” said Cindy.
