You are all set to begin the foam insulation installation process, but you want to know if it is safe to be in your home or if you need to make other plans.

This is a concern we hear a lot because not all spray foam insulation is the same and there are some products that have a longer re-occupancy time.

Whether RetroFoam of Michigan is installing injection foam insulation or spray foam insulation, both are absolutely safe for the homeowners, their children, and their pets to be inside the house during the installation process.

Let's talk more in-depth about the safety of spray foam insulation and pets, as well as the rest of your family.

Is Spray Foam Insulation Safe After it Cures?

Neither RetroFoam injection nor the spray foam insulation we use emits harmful gases during the installation process.

When installing RetroFoam injection foam into enclosed cavities, like exterior walls, you won't notice any smell at all because there is no off-gassing.

The spray foam we use does have a slight odor when it is being applied, but we ventilate the areas where it is being installed to make sure we get the smell out of the house.

Since you wouldn't want to be hovering over the crew as they install the foam insulation, you would be able to be in other areas of your home where work isn't being done.

The spray foam products we use are made with a very low concentration of volatile organic compound (VOC), so you shouldn't notice a huge smell and within two hours you wouldn't notice any smell at all.
